Call Notes | June 4: When Staying Positive Feels Like a Full-Time Job
Inside the Modern Round Table: When Staying Positive Feels Like a Full-Time Job
Today’s call felt like a group hug wrapped in truth serum.
One of the ladies joined us from her car (because… life), and honestly, it was the perfect metaphor for where so many of us are at on the move, juggling it all, trying not to scream “screw it” out the window even though we’ve trained ourselves to default to gratitude.
But let’s be honest: positivity is great, and also… exhausting.
We got real about marketing burnout, especially the kind that hits when you finally outsource and the result is meh at best and nothing like the vision in your head. There’s a special kind of rage that comes with paying someone to take something off your plate, only to have to redo it yourself. (Cue the deep sighs.)
Collaboration came up big. We’re all craving real, aligned, supportive connections that keep us inspired when the hustle starts to feel more like a hamster wheel.
We also talked about the sprint-burnout cycle. You push hard, crush a launch, juggle five thousand tasks… and then boom: you’re toast. It’s not just about time management, it’s about boundary management, learning to say no without guilt and yes without resentment.
One woman opened up about selling everything in her life, only to find new kinds of clutter creeping in. Emotional clutter, mental clutter, the constant noise of figuring it all out.
We shared tips on how we’re asking friends for referrals, leaning into our communities, and trying not to take it personally when people say “I can do it myself” (right before they come back completely overwhelmed, wondering if this is a scam or real).
It was honest. It was raw. And it reminded us that being surrounded by thoughtful, gritty, whip-smart women makes it all feel a little more manageable.
Here’s to showing up even if it’s from the front seat of your car.
Xo,
Danielle Victoriah
